as they return to themselves and the memories, moments, thoughts, and feelings that are calling to be shed. The serpent of their past, present, and future might be the guide they need, or it might be time to find another way through life.
This show is a collection and weaving of stories created by students at the Centre for Indigenous Theatre. Each story its own individual moment that has found context and meaning in the greater whole. It is a piece about finding self, strength, community, and meaning, through eremony, tradition, and blood memory. The thread through this story is winding and tangled, like the serpent’s skin, the meaning can be found in each individual scale or in the entire skin shed. Let this story wash over you like a great wave, find the teachings that stick, and let the rest go.
“Rise and fall we can meet the challenge
All we need in life is balance
Sink or swim it's a lesson learned
We’re all gifts and we will return”
